Offroad Teardrop

Got the run rails built and started fenders. Then I had to roll out for a wedding in GA. I'll be back at it soon. Still a lot of work to do before next weekend. Also bolted on the new 2.5" lift springs, but I broke a built whe I disassembled it.

Only took a few pics

We burned the midnight oil last night and at 11:15PM, the teardrop rolled out of my shop with fenders and guzzy with a hastily wired brake controller and visegripless battery terminal.

I took a shot under of the "cable management".

I didn't grab any of the fenders.. they turned out decent.

Didn't get many pictures in the shop last night. I plan to grab some this evening when we get packed up. We skinned them in textured ABS plastic to look like a jeep flare.

did you seal the small gap between the fender and the camper or let it be? I couldn't tell from picture.
currently its open, I havent decided how I want to do that yet. I'm open to suggestions. its about 1/4"-3/8" gap. I was thinking some kind of rubber seal like for door jambs.

So before you ding, bump, or bang it on the trail I suggest the completely mental approach. Pick an inconspicuous spot, whack it with a ball end of a hammer and you'll never worry about getting that first scratch or dent!

if you enclosed the inside of the fender i almost wouldn't worry about it. There are all kinds of weather/rubber seals in all kinds of different profiles out there you could use.
