Alright, I'm late to the party for sure, but anyone ever installed their own sprinkler system? or have recommendations?

I'm about to trench in some sprinklers and lay some sod soon and I'm currently doing research.

Its pretty simple with a rainbird system. Lay the wires with the water pipes, connect it all up, set your zones, and turn it on.

There is another system out there that is even simpler, but has a lot of moving parts. You can set zones near the house where it will reduce pressure to still hit the grass, but miss the house when it turns, and then once it clears its back to full pressure.

I had looked at irrigreen, but the reviews were not good. I like the concept, but there seem to be too many moving parts and computers to be reliable at this time.

I'm probably going to go with a rainbird system after watching some youtube videos.

The tricky part is I don't plan to lay sod over the entire yard, I'm going to sprig it with St. Augustine grass and let it spread, so I don't want to wash the dirt away. Still doing research on how to handle the rest of the ground thats not got grass on it while it spreads.

Go ahead and place the sprinklers where you want them eventually, then put the "Dead head" cap on the sprinklers you don't want active right away. Its a quick process and will keep those off until you put the sprinkler head back.

The only other way would be the use of valves and making new zones for the sprinklers you don't want to run right away. But would be way more complicated and expensive.

I’ve been working on a trail that goes around the property since we bought the property. This weekend we extended the cleared section for another quarter mile. We finally made it all the way to the back of the property with the tractor on the trail.
Goal of this trail is for biking and atvs and walking. It’s a fast flowing ride right now.

got the tractor stuck on my super narrow temp culvert through the creek. IMG_4164.jpeg

IMG_4163.jpeg I was able to “winch” it out with a chain on the bucket to a tree.

spent a few more days working on the bike trail and its coming along. I need to find a good deal on a large diameter pipe to bridge the creek in one spot. Otherwise I'm building a bridge i suppose.

Anyone got a 2-4' diameter pipe sitting around they want to get rid of? I'm keeping my eyes on marketplace. It only needs to be about 4-5' long.

There are a couple pieces of concrete pipe down at that deep crossing on our property. I'll try to remember to measure next time we're riding.
