From experience the silver won't last long. I did my beadlock rings silver and they lasted about one obstacle

i think bead locks see a little more abuse than diff covers do, but yeah watch it all fall off this weekend at gulches.

How did the new cover compare with the stock one as far as overall total thickness. or if you laid them both on a counter top was the new one taller than the stock one? I've wondered if all the different companies that make covers try and minimize how far they stick out past the ring gear.

My rear cover really has not taken any beating like the front has. It still looks new so your paint may hold up.

Honestly I don't have a clue, I can't imagine it would be more than half an inch more than the stock one cause I didn't notice a big difference.
