Trip Report: Labor Day 2026 MCJ @ the Cove

What a weekend,

Ava, Casey and I loaded up the TJ and headed west for a long weekend of wheeling, food, games and general bad decisions. 😂Ava dozed off a few times at 70mph when it was 100* out side. still not sure how.

The drive down was classic college TJ road-trip, no windows, no A/C wind noise for days and HOT. We broke it up with some lazer tag and a Buc-ee’s stop for dinner. We sent this pic to Emily so she didn't think we were having too much fun.

Once we got to Chattanooga, it was time to put the TJ to work. We spent Saturday wheeling the Cove. Nothing too crazy, but plenty of good trail time and some spots that made you work for the line. The Cove definitely didn't disappoint.

On Sunday we ventured out to Chattanooga downtown and the riverfront, had lunch and then did an escape room. We all got handcuffed to each other and locked in a prison cell, but we did make it out with time to spare.

Back at the cabin, the food and friends were great. Everyone cooked up some great group meals and we got to play some games and enjoy the view from the deck as the sun set. We had giant KerPlunk, Mexican Train, a bunch of other games, and enough good food to keep everybody fueled up.

Really good group, great weekend and a lot of laughs. One of those trips where the actual wheeling is only part of the story.

The TJ survived the interstate, the heat and the Cove, so I'd call it a successful trip.

Here are a few pics from the weekend.
