Mean Green

Would you believe Split Second actually recommends leaving the computer in the plastic bubble wrap that it ships in even after mounting it?

Looks good!! I bet you will not be able to get good gas mileage ever again WHINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! I speak from experience....

Well I fired it up today. Idled fine but it had a wicked backfire under throttle. I also noticed that I could not hear it sucking air at the filter. There are some ports on the bottom of blower that I should have siliconed off. Shouldn't be too bad to remove and redo. Hopefully that fixes it. That banks header makes it sound a lot better at idle.

I would not silicon off any holes....plug them the right way or they will just blow out under boost...you have a wide band on it?? That will keep u from blowing your motor up while tuning it

Robbie, the ports are rather large. In this pic, it's all the small circle ports that do not get used anymore. They all will now be secured on top of the intake adapter plate. I was just going to run a bead around each one as it gets plated off anyways.

This pic is of a damaged blower that ups dropped.

Brooks, those elbows were the biggest PITA! Finally got it with 2 flatheads I think. That was a few yrs ago on way to Oscar.

Looks good nick. Hate I didn't get to check it out the other day when I stopped by but I was I in a hurry and your wife was wondering why the hell some random guy was at your house.

Some of the hardware with that body lift weren't right I think it was 1/2" go long you'll have to measure your stock bolts to compare.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the big can looking device that's in line with the air intake? If you didn't want to monkey with setting your Fuel Tables, I'm sure any of the local dyno shops could do that in a afternoon. I agree, you defiantly wanna have some sort of Air/Fuel gauge. Plus they are pretty to watch dance around when your driving.

What I did.

And what I believe I should have done.

The opening in the adapter plate is only open where the three large openings starting from butterfly and continuing to the right.

Split Second has already pre-calibrated the tables. I should not need to have it tuned unless searching for more hp. Which I would like to do eventually.

I just got off the phone with the guy that builds the kits. He seems to think vacuum is not an issue and told me a few test to do. It may even be fine. I will keep ya posted. I guess Im gonn drive the ole lady today and see.

Nothing wrong at all. It has great low end torque and acceleration. I just ran a couple of laps around the neighborhood on 4 flat tires. The torque tube+no cat+Magnaflow is prob the root of the extreme rumble when revving although it does nothing like that while driving. It's very early but so far I'm happy with results. Unquestionably V8 power.
