Mean Green

All this talk from Farva about his potential Superchizzed TJ has made me realize the I must step my game up ASAP. So 13 push-ups later I was removing my exhaust and intake manifold.

Started cleaning the intake out, then realized that I had left the injectors in so I am gonna stop, pull them and clean real good around the housing for the nozzle

Everything torqued back to spec. Next is to start bolting blower on finally. It's a shame that pretty header does not even get seen. Maybe I should mount a mirror under it, hmmmmmm

Secksayyyyyyy...

What kind of power increase are people seeing with a blower. My very little amt. of searching found nothing on that Spintrex setup.

Hopefully urs has an Avenger. They are 90hp gain. Sprintex and Ripp are a little less. Avengers are the stuff but they may have closed. Ripp only does 2 years on the TJ and I don't know anything about Sprintex. All of these contain aftercoolers and larger injectors which drive price up and may not be totally necessary for the 4.0.

The one on the blue TJ is a Spintrex. Does come with larger injectors, non intercooled.

Did a little more digging, didn't want to clutter up your thread with posts but here is the info on the Spintrex:

Looks to get it to around 190ish HP and 265ish TQ at the tires. I think that I will be OK with that at the tires. The 241, im not so sure. How do those things hold up?
Stock was 150/210 approximately. They didn't show the actual #'s.

I have seen the 241s live on some high HP rigs. Should be fine for wheeling. My 241 whines really bad at speeds around 15 or more. Even in neutral. That's why I asked in another thread if they have the same oil pump as the 231 which has that tube that is very easy to dislodge if you have separated the case halves and not carefully reassembled. I was concerned that maybe previous owner could have done so. No one answered my question and I have not looked any further. Does anyone else's whine at any sort of speed? I know the 231 will run for a good while with that tube dislodged before kerplunk.

I got a couple hours today so after test fitting everything, I started with install.
This is the air temp sensor that was mounted on manifold. It now resides pre boost. I just drilled the rubber cobra head air inlet.

What I didn't do was consider leaving sufficient room for the band clamp. It will be fine but I could have left a little more room.

Here's a pic of the adapter spacer that allows the GM series blower to mount to the Jeep intake.

Here's the blower mounted with belt installed.

I had to stop there. I need to swap a couple of those blower mounting bolts. I just used what I could find for a couple of them.
