I would be modifying the front anyway to make the 8274 fit. The stubby would raise the winch up almost 2 inches so I think i have ruled it out.

They also make a stubby version of the insunk winch.

Cause their corners fit like shit and their sliders had porosity in the welds.

I had never heard of quality issues with them, but after hearing about Brooks', the same issues with the corners starting showing up all over LJ pages. Even the JCR shop rig, that should be their "Showpiece", has a gap around the bend of the corners.

And they didn't really wanna fess up to a crap design until being repeatedly called out on it. They may have even stopped making them.

Just keep in mind, when you do your LS Swap your gonna want to keep the grill as clear as you can....

They no longer make corners or sliders for TJs or LJs other than what they have left in stock for sliders. No corners ever again.

I dont hate them, I think a crap product slipped through the cracks or their QC wasnt in the office for a while. Its not what they are trying to put out. But I think it happened. what do you think of the grill hoop?

First one. Run a modern winch. Then sell your wheels and tires and get some 17” trail readys with km3. Total modernization.

External brake thats easy to work on/fix/rebuild, Time torture tested design, faster line speed than most all other winches. Retro Style.

I'll keep the modern winch on my minivan.

I was wondering if the tube would interfere with the winch mount, but on this one I would be mounting the winch without the winch plate.

I don't think the old winch looks bad on the TJ, definitely better than on the JK!
