Prepping the trailer for a special recovery mission. It hasn't had a winch mounted in it since I took it out for extra room going to Moab. I've since put that 10k winch in a cradle for the trucks, so I put my 3k ATV winch in the trailer. I wanted it removable, but there isn't room to slide it into a reciever from the front. I cut the top out of the reciever mount so you can drop it in. I think it will be ok, but I can drop a section of larger tubing over the top if it tries to spread.

My shelving also failed, so pulled all that out to redo.

A relatively simple charcoal canister replacement on the original truckster got way more time consuming today. It stopped taking fuel without spitting and cutting the pump off a couple weeks ago. The cannister failed and let out the charcoal pellets. The evap line that goes to the solenoid on the intake was full and the solenoid was clogged with pellets. Not sure why we didn't have more problems than just not taking fuel.

Lots of blowing compressed air back and forth in the emissions lines to free up and clear the plugs.

looks great, how do you like it so far?
Liking it so far. Loaded up and went to Charleston today. Averaging 17mpg…disappointing there as my JK on 37’s and 5:13’s gets that 😂

Aside from that, it rides better than a lifted jeep but on par with a ram/f150. It has the 4 cylinder in it but it honestly does just fine with it. Will see how it holds up as time goes on. Will let the factory warranty go out on it and then start working on the tune to see if I can stretch some more HP and MPG out of it.

I will say that the 12” screen is nice for navigation and OnX looks great on it!

Looks great. I really like how they drive. More like a sxs than a jeep. I believe ford has a tune for it that maintains warranty.

Well now that is something I will have to look into more.
It does seem to zip around the tight Charleston streets pretty good. Learning where all the corners are.

The soft top on my 18JKU was starting to fall apart on me this spring. Every time the top was taken down or just using the sun rider part the stitching was giving way on the driver side. I assume just from sun damage but seems a bit premature for being only barely 5 years old. Started looking for a replace a top from Best Top but found out they don't make any color tops anymore. What ever stock is out there is it. Luckily Jim came across one on Ebay for $600 and I offered $500 and it was on my doorstep the next day. Not bad for a top that goes for $1800! Hopefully I'll get more than 5 years out of this one!

Replaced all the wiring on the TJ with a kit from Jeep cables. Only pain was the engine ground spun off with the nut. Just replaced the stud entirely and reconnected everything. Jeep starts perfectly every time now. Do need to change the wires for the winch as they are small to fit the terminals now.
