The jeep is back together. Pulled the driver side rear axle and replaced the wheel studs (didn't trust them after they got bent when my wheel decided to exit). Sealed it all back up, added gear oil. New lug nuts all the way around. The old ones were different sizes front to rear and they were getting pretty chewed up. Washed the Jeep inside and out. This is the first time the jeep has been clean in years. I still need to seal around the bolts holding my storage box down. I never expected water to enter from the bottom, but our river adventure proved me wrong on that one.

Well apparently YJs and CJs have their sun visors attached with sheet metal screws and it's a crap design that just leads to bigger and bigger ones that keep falling out. Stuck some rivnuts in the windshield frame last night and bolted those suckers on. Problem solved. Also took off the loud squeaky tore carrier that puts the tire dead in my field of vision.

Burgundy's yukon xl has not been getting up to operating temp the past few weeks. We have a 1200 mile round trip coming up and would rather drive hers at ~20mpg vs mine at ~12. I could just pop a new thermostat in it, but that would be too easy and it has 210k miles on original water pump.

I've had a Flowkooler pump for the jeep sitting on the bench for months, and it's thermostat housing has been leaking a little. I guess this is the motivation I need. Today's project was Flowkooler pump on the jeep. Tomorrow will be putting the 3,500 mile oem replacement pump from the jeep on hers.

The addition of AC made this much more difficult. I couldn't get the pump out without either removing the AC compressor or the fan. Ended up wiggling it out the bottom.

Second one done. This was one of those jobs where the right tool makes all the difference. I swore after doing the radiator in my 2500 I wasn't messing with another one without hose clamp tools.

The original thermostat looked perfect, but the spring was soft. I could start to open it by hand.

meant to take pics but forgot. Helped my brother put a 2" AEV lift on their JLU and he helped me throw in the 3/4" daystar pucks in the back of our Gladiator. It raked it out just a bit so it doesn't look so saggy out back.

Believe it. Mine was surprisingly good till I started passing cars not realizing I was going that fast. The wind didn’t blow in as bad the faster I went…and it was a chilly ride.
