Project: Times are changing

Finally getting around to installing the 5.29's. I've rebuilt my far share of toy front ends and this one takes the cake as far as being a mess. Both side axle seals have been gone for a very long time. I topped it off before going to Tellico and once I pulled the spindles fluid poured out of the knuckle.
Here's a list of things you need when servicing a toy front axle.
Brass hammer for the cone washers, a few good smacks on the hub body will free them up, make sure and keep your hand in front of them because they can rocket across the shop.
12mm socket for the hub bolts.
14mm socket for the spindle bolts.
17mm socket for the brake caliber.
A small flat chisel for the 54mm socket lock ring
54mm socket to get the hub body off the spindle.
Have the trans/transfer case in neutral so you can spin the axle shaft around to the flat sides on the birfield.

Your welcome I think ? Parts should be here tomorrow to build the rear differential.

Got to work on the front end tonight. Knew it would be a mess because of the leaking 93 seals. Since I've rebuilt a handful I knew exactly what it would involve. I read on mud about the valvaline ford/Lincoln/mercury grease with the moly in it. As far as fluids, I'm not crazy over the synthetic price tag, plent of vehicles with 100's of thousands of miles on factory fluid with out a problem. My dealership said they just get their grease from napa anyways. Clean up has taken me longer than expected. These seals were done waaaaay before now.

Sitting out here by a fire so I thought I'd post a few pics. We did a few of the classics like gold bar rim/gold spike. But more of an expo style looking for more scenic trails and doing things I've never done.

We got up to la sal pass (10,600ft) and never expected to see the foliage already changing being everything in town is still green. These pics don't say how bright these leaves are. Almost to bright to look at sometimes.

Scooped up a light bar from Tractor Supply. 20" with 48 bulbs for a $100 yesterday. It was the last one. I'm fixing to start my front bumper build with an 8274 so this little light should be a good addition.

Me too. Are you still running the spacers with these wheels?
Yeah still have the spacers. The prob is I'm drive to Ouray Colorado in sept and while the beadlocks rode fine for an hour or so they didn't ride well enough for 30 hours. Trying to sell them or hopefully trade for a front bumper.
