In my weekend ramblings, I was fortunate enough to meet a family of landowners on the Broad River that were kind enough to allow me and a old hobo friend of mine do some exploring and relic hunting. This was one of many very interesting things I found. It took about half an hour to get to this spot as we were on our way to the ruins of an old mill and train depot.

Is it stained at the bottom like that due to water level? Or does the stone just wick water?

Just stained. It and the cemetery are sitting on a huge mound of land over some swamp land and river bottom.

Yeah, anytime. That was just a spur the moment trip where I did most of the exploring on foot. There's no shortage of cool things to see if you take the path less traveled and know the right people.

haha, thanks but not exactally. I was fooled by the shinyness. But on the plus side, i can clean them off and throw them in my spare nut and bolt box!
