Ozarks and Arkansas Information

#1
So I was originally planning to do a Florida trip for spring break this year, but with covid and the tons of people that flock to Florida it just wasn't doing it for me. I realized that we have 10 days to travel and explore which is what we took to go to Moab. I should really use this time better. So I started looking at the best road trips and overland routes in the US. Obviously there are tons of options including the Upper Peninsula, Outer Banks, Key West, Blue Ridge Parkway, Route 66, Mojave Road, Skyline Drive, Gulf Coast, California Coast, etc. There were a few that I found that we haven't done that didnt take me out west. I'd like to eventually visit Maine, New Hamshire, and Nova Scotia. Big Bend National Park sounded cool, but it was still a good ways. I figured there had to be something in the middle of the country that was cool to see.... Enter Arkansas. The only thing I had ever heard of from Arkansas is Hot Springs ORV Park. Being that I will be in the JT pulling our camper I'm not out to do a whole lot of extreme wheeling, but we usually find some great trails on our travels. So i have spent the last few weeks doing some research on the area to put together a possible route that we could do that would be kid friendly but still be fun for adults. I'm posting this up here to see if anyone else has any additional ideas to include from the area or along the way. Here is the current tentative idea. Still up for tons of changes.

Friday - Leave Chapin around Lunch Time and head to Scenic Drive RV Campground between Heflin and Birmingham, AL (4.5 Hours)
Saturday - Visit GO APE and do the Ropes Course in Memphis Drive to Downtown Riverside RV Park in Littlerock, AR (6.5 Hours)
Sunday - Explore Little Rock - Riverside Bike Trails, Discovery Museum, Food
Monday - Drive to Hot Springs and Explore the Area, Ritter Jeep Trail, to Mt. Nebo State Park
Tuesday - Visit Old Homestead and parts of the High Water Mark Trail - camp at remote riverside site.
Wednesday - Blanchard Springs Recreation Area
Thursday - Blanchard Springs Recreation Area
Friday - Piney River Resort outside Nashville
Saturday - Visit Rainforest Cafe and the Grand Ole Opry Mall
Sunday - Explore Chattanooga - Rock City, Ruby Falls, Racoon Mountain
Monday - Drive home to Chapin (5 hours)

I'm working on details and nothing is locked in yet. Anyone have any suggestions for the areas listed?

Chattanooga is a neat city. AMB and I witnessed a murder, so it had a real "homey" feel for us. Also, that is the fastest I have ever pedaled a rental kiosk bike.

Just make sure if you go to dinner at The Blue Cat and you see a Mexican in a black Tahoe you don't hang around or ask questions.
I'll keep that in mind :grinpimp:. Up to this point I hadn't ventured out of Arkansas, but I know the Ozarks extend into Missouri. Have you been out that way?

wow! what a trip. only pulled cable once, and we made it home alive and well. Dodged some tornadoes, flooded rivers, and had a blast!

Will get some pics and a report up probably after OSCARX
