March 7-9 South Carolina Adventure Route

#1
Lots of good information online. It looks like we have a campsite near North Charleston. I'm still trying to get a timeline on how long it will take us to travel to the campsite.

I'm thinking we leave out Saturday morning and head to camp, then leave to ride more trails on the way out Sunday? Would yall rather do that or head out friday evening?

The South Carolina Adventure Route (SCAR) loops through approximately 1,000 miles of rural South Carolina. Follow it, and you will see mountains, ocean, forests, countryside, state parks, historical sites, and quaint towns--all on a mix of paved and un-paved public roads (approximately 55%/45%). The SCAR also connects to the Smokey Mountains 500, the Georgia Traverse, and the Trans-America Trail (TAT), providing TAT riders with an additional rural coast-to-coast option. SCAR GPS files (.gpx tracks) are available on the "Download" page of this site.

From my rough calculations it looks like 5 hours traveling counter clockwise from Exit 33 off of I-20 to the Campsite in Ravenel, SC via the SCAR and the Southeast ALT (in Red near Blackville above)

I would say that leaves us options for running this segment on Saturday the 8th. We could meet up at Exit 33 for Breakfast March 8 and hit the road for the day.

A few optional stops along the route:

We could also continue on that afternoon depending on time to Edisto and Visit Botony Bay then head to camp, its about 45 min from camp.

Where exactly are y'all planning to camp in Ravenel? The only place I can think of out that way is a permanent camper campground that's a little sketch.

If its oak plantation in West Ashely you will be ok, but I'd steer clear of Lake Arie Campground if possible. It can be hit or miss, but mostly miss.

Also not sure if y'all planned this or not, but Overland South will be going on this same weekend. Will be a lot of overlanding stuff happening not far from y'all at this place.. I have not been, but they have trail ride and obstacle course set up at the event as well.

I did see that event posted last night after we met. It would kill our current schedule, but may be something worthwhile.
