Post your Picture of the day

I've been looking for a more modern stock 4x4 for a while now. Really wanted a rover but everyone I looked at had TONS of issues.

This one was owned by a family friend that wanted it gone. I made a random offer and it sounded good to him. He actually took care of it in the past 10 years. While it does need work, I was able to jump in it and drive it 250 miles without any issues.

Built a new table for the production welders other day. Clean cuts from laser makes fit up a breeze. Threw the table together in an hour and a half then did some tweaking to square the top on and level it out from the bow in the metal.

Pretty impressed with the mileage i got in this 2015 Grand 4x4 Limited RENTAL unit i took down to Florida this week.
This was the return trip it was about 50/50 Interstate, back roads (under 70mph). The trip down was 15/85 with most being back roads under 70mph and it managed about 27.5 with Ethanol Free.
It was the Flex fuel version with the 8 speed. Sweet driving Jeep, add adaptive cruise control and i might have a new DD.

I rented a Burb a few months back. 2015 LT with the 5.3. Driving it through the mountains on 2 lane roads, it got 21 mpg. I was thoroughly impressed. When I rented the Jeep Cherokee out in Colorado last year, it was getting 31mpg on the interstate.

Except for stop and go traffic, these newer, bigger vehicles are really doing well on the mpg side.

When in tig mode since I bought this machine you can't control the amperage with the pedal, it maxes the amperage out no matter what the machine is set on but burns a stick rod correctly, so I e been trying to clean it up and figure out if it's my pedal or something else.

I know what the problem is. ..it's red haha
I'm a miller guy for sure but I got a deal I couldn't pass up. Supposedly the foot pedals on these are somewhat problematic, but I was told it might have gotten ran over at some point so it's probably causing the issue. I've got a buddy I work with with the same machine who has had trouble out of his pedals before and has a new one I'm gonna try before spending $200+ on a new pedal to see if it fixes it.

I have a CV Lincoln machine I use at work that's the only Lincoln in the building and it welds like a dream, which is the only Lincoln mig I've ever liked.

Steve, I would imagine the pedal isn't anything more than a variable resister feeding back to the machine. You could probably test it with a multimeter. How many pins go to the pedal?

6 pins. I'm not very electrical savvy but I'm gonna try and take the pedal apart and see if there's anything noticeable. Looking at the pedal there doesn't really appear to be any way to take it apart but I'm going to try and knock the pin out that is the hinge and see if that will work.

Pedals are always getting abused and ran over so it could be some type of cut or short in the cable of it.

Everything looked fine inside the machine and the fact that it works in stick mode makes me think the potentiometer is fine. With this machine you can't scratch start the tig unfortunately.

Wish that picture would have come out better. Truck had roof basket with wake board speakers hanging off both sides. The cooler on top is a custom Yeti sub box with 2 more speakers facing backwards. I'll give you 1 guess as to what was across the front of the rack.
