The Morning Doo

Any ideas on what gears I'd need with my new set up on 39-40s? 5.3/TH350/300/60/14

I'd say a 5:38 or 5:13 would be pretty close. Isn't a D300 around 2.8:1? Jay ran the 203/205 doubler with 4:56's and 39's and it was perfect.

That's what I was thinking too. Yeah I think that'd what it is.

For comparison... Jay's crawl ratio was 45.9:1

With a 5:38 you would have a 35.5:1 (the 300 is 2.62:1) TH350 first gear is 2.52:1.

You should be fine with that. It may not be perfect but I wouldn't gear a D300. The 5.3 doesn't make near the power down low as he had but with the right converter and a heavy foot it shouldn't be a problem.

Mine in the buggy is:
30.99:1 in Mid range
55.79:1 in Low (which is too low IMO if you need any wheelspeed) It's nice for slow crawls when you just wanna sit back and chill.

I would really like something closer to that 40:1 range for my Mid range but with the new converter it pretty much does what it's supposed to.

Mine is only about 37 to 1, but with the aw4 and the low rpm torque of the 4.0, I rarely wish for more gear, and wheel speed is there when I need it.

Who makes cheap strong Dana 60 High Steer Arms?

I got these for Ftoy http://www.fourwheelsupply.net/collections/steering-components
