I guess I need to bend the hoops in more and lower it some, so that it ties into the top of the frame rail instead of the side.

Out of curiosity why the solid rod vs brake line?

How was it bending that solid rod?

its not bad, the key is if you have to make any of the same bends twice is to mark a line on your tube and start your bend in the same place each time.

I have a peice of heavy c-channel that has two holes drilled in it for a TJ towhook bolt pattern, and I just have two bolts with sleeves bolted through the holes. Then I bend the rod with them.

the brakeline is more expensive, its harder to bend without kinking, and I would need to braze it.

I can bend the solid rod around anything, its cheap (24' for $7) and I can mig weld it without coping the ends.

after looking at it again, I think I'm going to cut off the radiator hoop and redo it this weekend.

Did some work this evening. Still working on the rockers. Got the new beadlocks mounted, made the corner armor and test fit the new mmp and brushless motor.

Got the rockers almost finished.

Tried to hook all the electronics up but it looks like my servo crapped out on me...

Thanks, hooked my servo back up to my old ESC and bec and it works fine. I'm going to have to check the MMP out and see if its not putting out enough voltage. I planned to run the CC Bec with the MMP, but was going to test it without it....seems it wont work without it.

It worked really well, the brushless system is a little glitchy still.

Mounted all the electonics today and tightened up all the bolts. Now i just need to make some sleeves for the rear lowers and we are ready to hit the trail.

Still have some body work, like trim off the tailgate posts, and make the full doors into half doors, but its in running condition now.

built some front inner fenders for it last night. I'm a little worried about the MMP being right behind the front right tire. I'm going to extend the inner fender to cover it this week.

I had some black foam sheets in a drawer left from a project in college, It is super easy to work with and made making inner fenders like cake walk. I used CA glue to put it together and it seems to be perfect. I forgot to get some pics, but I'll try to snag some tonight. I think that will keep the dirt and mud out of the electronics pretty well.
