Finally found my JKU this week. We've looked around at a lot of different jeeps in a wide price range, but settled on something I could pay cash for but condition was key. This is a 2013 Rock Lobster Moab Edition with 210,000 miles on it, but only the driver's seat would indicate that. Its exceptionally clean and rust free.

This package is basically a Sahara with steel bumpers, sliders, and a power dome hood. Its a manual with 3.21s, but the condition sold it. Engine is quiet, has aluminum oil cooler already, so we're going to put some more miles on it and hope for the best.

I already picked up a Warren 10S winch for it.

My ultimate goal is to make this a Fubicon. All the good stuff without the computer ninny controls of when you can and can't use it.

I was set to go get an early JKU rubicon with a bad transmission today, but it sold. I would have taken the hard top, axles, sway bar, and maybe lift from it. If you see something for sale that fits the bill, let me know.

So... I bought a hard top. It came with a jeep.

There's a few problems with this one. Cylinder 5 misfire, 330k miles, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

I'll do some quick diagnosis to see if its something simple or if it ate the cams on #5, but now I have a conundrum. Do I swap soft top on it and sell, or keep for all the other random parts I might need one day and possibly an engine core?

Like any new to me vehicle, I have an extensive list of things to do. I've been working on a few comfort and accessibility upgrades.

I got the Bulletpoint grab bar kit for a 1" ball on the left side. Then I picked up a Ram Mounts quick grip XL with wireless charging. I pulled power off the back of the cigarette lighter plug and hard wired a USB charger in the dash. The only thing visible is the cable going into the dash.

Trying to be @Twilliamson approved.

I also cut out all the saggy mesh pockets and replaced them with Jeep Pockets in the center and rear doors and the quadratec ones with water bottle pocket in the front.

To keep from having to put together another recovery kit, I put most of the gear from the LJ into a packout case. I also ordered a MorrFlate TenSix compressor and their 155" quad hose kit. That fits really nice into a compact packout case which will make an easy to take anywhere air up kit.

One of the items on my to get list is a 3 wide packout plate that mounts behind the JK back seat.

I also have a 3 wide plate to mount on top of the storage box in the LJ.
