June 29 MCJ Summer Paddling Trip

The Green River is indefinitely altered after Helene. I think we should hit up the Saluda River through Saluda Shoals. Its kid and new paddler friendly and has a few fun spots to paddle.

We will likely grab food after paddling somewhere in Irmo.

Eddie and are going...let's plan who is going to park cars downriver. I can haul 5 people + driver in my F250. 2 more in the kayak racks, but you'll get bugs in your teeth.

Chris has kayak trailer, I'll have my truck with rack, can hold our canoe and maybe one other boat.

Updated the first post to reflect the route. We will run through Saluda Shoals, its not a long paddle and is float friendly. We should have time for two laps.

Yes, we did say 10, but with the heat wave we are seeing now I wonder if we want to try earlier? Maybe 9:30AM at the Saluda Shoals Boat Ramp?

One kid got an upgrade.

It's a Pelican Liberty 9.5 and looks like it came out of the same mold as the Perception Swift 9.5 DLX that I had been looking at. We're suppised to pick up a used Perception version for cheap on Monday, so they'll be good to go for next time.
