Key Stuck in Ignition?

#1
So my jeep cranks and turns off normally, but since the rebuilt I have had a hell of a time getting the key out of the ignition cylinder. I shot a little silicone lubricant in there and it seemed to turn easier, but wont release the key on command. Other than replacing the tumbler and having a mismatched key for my ignition and doors and center console and glovebox, are there any other options?

Try getting a new key cut. When the key wears it can cause similar issues. worth the 5 bucks to find out. Worst case you have an extra key. Also the tumblers have little doohickeys in them to "set them" to your key. If you have to replace tumbler you can keep key. I did it on my old TJ if I remember correctly. I know I did it on something.

Yea its not hard to change the tumblers i did all my doors and rear tail gate to match my ignition.
Thanks guys, I dropped my jeep off at millers today to recharge my AC and had him go ahead and see what was up. He replaced the tumbler, and two other parts of the ignition. It has been acting funky for about 2 years and I could hear chunks in it. I could also randomly start it with my other key. So its nice to have the accessory function again, and be able to remove it.
