i was soooooo close to fininshing the winch today. i mounted the solenoids under the hood (wanted to be different), and have everything wired up and ready to go. i also bought 3 new solenoids, but... of course the solenoid that i thought was good is bad. so i can spool out, but can't spool in.

will finish it up tomorrow and take pictures of all the shenanigans

put the winch to the real test today. dragged the stock skid over a hill in my back yard and it worked great. was very satisfied with how it all turned out. here is a picture of it.

well after trying to get those golf cart solenoids to work.. they just wont fit. i'm sending them back to be returned tomorrow. hopefully they will take them back with ease cause i lost like 4 grade 5 washers and a nut cause gravel drive ways suck!

i also returned all the ford starter solenoids today except for one cause o'reily's was being a ***** about taking it back :pissed: but hey atleast i got a "spare". (hopefully i wont ever have to use it!!! cause it seems a little sketch)

I just went ahead and cut my losses and ordered 4 of the old style WARN solenoids from clemson4wheel. ended up being like 112 bucks to ship them all to my door. For anyone replacing 8274 solenoids, DO NOT make my mistake and put on ford starter solenoids. they are at BEST a back up solenoid if one goes out on the trail and you're in a real tight spot. I tried to go cheap and it ended up losing 35 bucks due to it. I learned pretty well everything the hard way about this winch so if yall got any questions regarding an 8274 you can ask me lol.

fuel cell is on its way with the genright ring!

also have all my parts in for my flat skid, but debating on doing it now, or when i stretch it cause i don't want to have to make 2 drive shafts.

all the parts i just recently ordered for my fuel cell. Can get kinda confusing, or atleast it did for me. did some asking around.

Fuel cell- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RCI-2162A/ this you don't have to buy from summit, you can generally get em for a good bit cheaper on bids on ebay. you just gotta be "that guy" and put a big max bid in or wait till the last seconds. i ended up getting mine for 150

mounting kit- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RCI-7513A/ could make something like this probably pretty easy, but for only 30 bucks i went ahead and just bought the kit.

genright ring- with this ring you want to have the 2162 fuel cell, because this ring has the pump sit about 1.5 inches above the top of the cell, so that leaves you with a gap about 3 inches from the bottom of the cell to pickup... well thats about 15 to 20% of your fuel. so the 2162 and genright ring are the perfect combination. the pump is pretty well on the bottom. so alottt better pickup and no unused fuel.

caps- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-220840/ x2

90 degree fitting- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-220712/

and i will use rubber fuel injector line for fuel lines.
